- 1 cupsemolina (rava/sooji)
- 1 smallonion, diced
- 1 wholegreen chili, minced
- 1 tspginger, grated
- 1 cupmixed vegetables (carrot, peas)
- 1 tspmustard seeds
- 1 tspchana dal
- 1 leavescurry leaves
- 1 tbspghee or oil
- 1 cupswater
- 1 tbsplemon juice
- 1 tspsalt
Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina (rava/sooji)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 whole green chili, minced
- 0.5 tsp ginger, grated
- 0.5 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, peas)
- 0.5 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 8 leaves curry leaves
- 2 tbsp ghee or oil
- 2.5 cups water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Dry roast semolina in a pan until lightly fragrant, about 3 minutes; set aside.
- Heat ghee; add mustard seeds, chana dal, curry leaves, ginger, and green chili; let sizzle.
- Add onion; sauté 2 minutes. Add vegetables and cook 2 minutes.
- Add water and salt; bring to a boil.
- Slowly add roasted semolina while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- Cover and cook on low heat 3 minutes; stir once more. Squeeze in lemon juice.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney and coffee or chai.
